Obesity in Children

Shocking statistics from the Chief Medical Officer Dame Sally Davies yesterday about the health of our children. 🍎

“Ten in every 30 primary school children are now overweight or obese. Each week the equivalent of 13 school buses of children are admitted to hospital for tooth extraction under general anaesthetic because of decay caused by sugar, she said, adding: “That’s damaging children, costing the NHS.”" 🌽

If you’re going to give your child a sweet snack why not make it one of these instead:

- A piece of fruit, full of vitamins, minerals and fibre

- Oat biscuits -

- Homemade Bounty Bar -

Even better is to try moving towards savoury snacks for your kids: reducing their “sweet tooth” is the ideal scenario, but that doesn’t mean crisps!

Healthy savoury snacks could include:

- Crudites and dips like hummus or guacamole

- A handful of nuts or seeds

- Cheese and chia seed cookies -

- Mini hash brown frittata -

If you struggle to deal with your child’s eating habits why not get in touch, in one of two ways:
