Chia Cheese Scones

If your kids are veggie or refuse oily fish then these chia cheese scones are the perfect way to get your kids to eat more omega 3 fats.

Omega 3 fats are vital for good mental health🧠concentration and to reduce anxiety. And a great source of energy along with the whole meal flour and oats.

Recipe:â €

200g wholemeal spelt flourâ €

50g oatsâ €

70g chia seedsâ €

1 tsp baking powderâ €

1 tsp mustard powderâ €

1 tsp dried oregano or thymeâ €

100g butterâ €

100g grated cheddarâ €

1tsp oreganoâ €

50ml olive oilâ €

2 eggsâ €

100ml milkâ €

Instructions:â €

Preheat oven to 180C and prepare baking tray with grease proof paper.â €

Put flour, baking powder, mustard powder into a bowl & rub in the butter.â €

In a jug measure the oil, milk, add eggs & beat.â €

â €

Add cheese, chia seeds & oregano to the mix then stir together.â €

â €

Pour in wet mixture & use a fork to bind. It will be quite wet but just take a small amount of mixture at a time & roll into a ball. Place on tray. Makes approx 20.â €

Bake in oven for 12 - 15 mins until golden brown.
