If your kids are veggie or refuse oily fish then these chia cheese scones are the perfect way to get your kids to eat more omega 3 fats.
Omega 3 fats are vital for good mental health🧠concentration and to reduce anxiety. And a great source of energy along with the whole meal flour and oats.
Recipe:⠀
200g wholemeal spelt flour⠀
50g oats⠀
70g chia seeds⠀
1 tsp baking powder⠀
1 tsp mustard powder⠀
1 tsp dried oregano or thyme⠀
⠀
100g butter⠀
100g grated cheddar⠀
1tsp oregano⠀
50ml olive oil⠀
2 eggs⠀
100ml milk⠀
⠀
Instructions:⠀
Preheat oven to 180C and prepare baking tray with grease proof paper.⠀
⠀
Put flour, baking powder, mustard powder into a bowl & rub in the butter.⠀
⠀
In a jug measure the oil, milk, add eggs & beat.⠀
⠀
Add cheese, chia seeds & oregano to the mix then stir together.⠀
⠀
Pour in wet mixture & use a fork to bind. It will be quite wet but just take a small amount of mixture at a time & roll into a ball. Place on tray. Makes approx 20.⠀

Bake in oven for 12 - 15 mins until golden brown.
